Slim Box Sash Windows

Sash windows have been a popular choice in Britain since the 18th century. They work by one of more sections, supported by cords and counterweights sliding over other sections.

The Traditional Slim Sash Window is our most popular sash window. At just over 5” deep it is the slimmest sash window available in the UK, which means it is ideal for properties within conservation areas.

Being so slim, the window fits perfectly into more restricted spaces and doesn’t stick out into the room and fight for space with radiators. This obviates the need to reposition radiators even when they’re located directly below the window.

The Slim Sash Window works brilliantly in bay windows and can maintain the glass area and window proportions when used together with our Slim Bay detail.

You can rest assured that the slim profile doesn’t compromise its insulation capabilities. By utilising the excellent insulation qualities of krypton gas, we’re able to maintain a very narrow gap between the glass panes.

Like an extension

The Bi-Folds make the outside area feel like an extension of the house; we love opening them up for entertaining and often sit both in and outside with the doors wide open.

More solid and far less cold

The prevailing winds across the nearby hills made the house quite chilIy. It’s now a lot quieter, feels much more solid and far less cold now.

Engineered timber

We use engineered timber on all our sash windows.
Engineered timber is created by laying layers of solid wood together with the grain going in opposite directions. This creates a remarkably strong and rigid material which means that our windows never bend or warp, which is a traditional weakness of Sash windows.

Double glazing

Sash windows traditionally were infamous for being draughty and losing heat. We have solved these problems by installing insulation strips and double glazing. All our windows have hi spec double glazing fitted as standard, which guarantees high levels of thermal insulation to keep you cosy and warm while saving you money.

Security

Traditionally Sash windows weren’t very secure. We’ve addressed this by fitting all glass from the inside so it can’t be removed from the outside, fitting limit stops so they can’t be opened too far and fitting 2 key lockable fitch catches(which keeps the insurance man happy)

Micro-porous paint

To maximise the life time of your windows, we use micro-porous paint, which gives great protection yet needs virtually no maintenance. Our paints are available in over 200 RAL shades and can be matched to both Farrow and Ball and Fired Earth colours to co-ordinate with your other colour schemes.

Ironmongery

To maintain the traditional appearance of your windows, you can finish them off with either traditional brass, mottled antique brass, oil rubbed bronze, antique pewter, polished chrome, satin nickel, satin chrome, or polished stainless steel catches and sash lifts from our ironmongery range.
